Let's High Tea

Lady Mendl's Tea Salon is located in the historical Gramercy Park area, inside of this beautiful brown stone townhouse. When I walked in that door, I was totally enchanted by the extraordinary interior design of all the rooms. It was like in one of those classic society movies from the 19th century, but with all vivid colors and lights. It's definitely one of the cutest high tea choices in the city.

Everything was exceptionally beautiful.

Table setting~ I had the white tea, forget what Michelle had... :P

Another room by the window..

Me & Michelle~

After high tea we just walked around the park area and took some random pictures lol... was a relaxing and fun afternoon. I heart Gramercy!

A Greenwich Village Afternoon

What can be more exciting than fresh seafood on a weekend afternoon, and it's "all you can eat crabs"? FISH - a must-go spot for all the seafood lovers! The raw oysters there were great, so were the fried ones. They also have steamed whole lobster, for only 20something bucks - and it was delicious! Last Saturday we tried the "all you can eat crabs" special and it was fairly good - hey it was only $20 per person.

Then we were just walking around Bleecker St.. There was a street affair. I almost wanted to get these flowers~ (fyi, I'm not a big nature person.. but they are so pretty)

It was really fun. Lots of designer jewelries, clothing, vintage goods... check out this polaroid -

Happy Birthday to Us

Paul, the United States, then me - our birthdays are so close!
OK this was harder than I expected - especially I had no other photographers but myself! 10-sec self timer is the best!
I think I took over 100 photos just for this. Fun gift, right?

Soho, Soho

Yea it's easily every girl's top 3 areas in the city.. The countless fashion boutiques, the lovely brunch spots, and even those little cobblestoned roads (which are really not so considerately made for heels).. I have to say, it's always fun to just walk around with some girl friends on a sunny day.

By the way, this restaurant I went with michelle couple weeks ago was so cute!! It's called Elizabeth, on Elizabeth St. The little garden at backyard can be turned into a private dining area. Too bad I didn't take any pictures, but they have tons on their website. Speaking of restaurants in Soho, Raoul's is also one of our favorites. Michelle and I went there last year. Some old pictures -

When chocolate meets wine...

When pairing the right chocolate with the right wine, you will taste perfection! Ayza Chocolate Wine bar, located in West 31st St Manhattan, is a great place to try some sweets in the city. What could be better than some cocoa dark chocolate along with a glass of Zinfandels or Pinot Nior on a summer afternoon?
Oh well the signature chocolate martini was a little too strong for me...

Michelle and I also ordered some cheese, salami, and our favorite foir gras...

"Paris of the Far East"

Two weeks seemed too short for a vacation in Shanghai, a city full of news and olds, excitements and history. As a local "Shanghainese", I found some tourist spots that attract me as well as visitors from all over the world, such as Xin-tian-di, and Tian-zi-fang.

These old stone buildings in Xin-tian-di were all renovated with modern interior and became bars, restaurants, art galleries and boutiques.

Tian-zi-fang is also an area full of "Shikumen" stone buildings that embodies the history of Shanghai. It was quite interesting to see various cultures and styles in just few blocks.

Last but not least, Shanghai's well known night scenes... I took this picture in a taxi. A few years ago I used to pass by it everyday after work. Oh well, sometimes New York City reminds me of it (but still not quite the same).

Fashion peek @ Expo

As crowded as I heard, the Expo in Shanghai is still a huge attraction to me. Luckily, I will be there within just a week!

Italy Pavilion (Left: Dolce&Gabbana Right: Versace)-

This fragrance is named after France Pavilion (L’Eau de Parfum Pavillion France). The net element makes it look just like the pavilion itself. Of course, the scent is available in both for women and for men. It will be launched in multiple cities in China. Wow, I wonder how many more marketing ideas I will see in Shanghai Expo!
Here it is -

Besides, I can't wait to see the Poland Pavilion! Isn't it beautiful -

We love birds

No matter the three-legged bird in the classic Chinese mythology, or the tradition Japanese origami, bird is a creature that can be found in various cultural stories. Of course, it also has inspired lots of designers and become one of the most popular fashion elements lately.
