Soho, Soho

Yea it's easily every girl's top 3 areas in the city.. The countless fashion boutiques, the lovely brunch spots, and even those little cobblestoned roads (which are really not so considerately made for heels).. I have to say, it's always fun to just walk around with some girl friends on a sunny day.

By the way, this restaurant I went with michelle couple weeks ago was so cute!! It's called Elizabeth, on Elizabeth St. The little garden at backyard can be turned into a private dining area. Too bad I didn't take any pictures, but they have tons on their website. Speaking of restaurants in Soho, Raoul's is also one of our favorites. Michelle and I went there last year. Some old pictures -

When chocolate meets wine...

When pairing the right chocolate with the right wine, you will taste perfection! Ayza Chocolate Wine bar, located in West 31st St Manhattan, is a great place to try some sweets in the city. What could be better than some cocoa dark chocolate along with a glass of Zinfandels or Pinot Nior on a summer afternoon?
Oh well the signature chocolate martini was a little too strong for me...

Michelle and I also ordered some cheese, salami, and our favorite foir gras...

"Paris of the Far East"

Two weeks seemed too short for a vacation in Shanghai, a city full of news and olds, excitements and history. As a local "Shanghainese", I found some tourist spots that attract me as well as visitors from all over the world, such as Xin-tian-di, and Tian-zi-fang.

These old stone buildings in Xin-tian-di were all renovated with modern interior and became bars, restaurants, art galleries and boutiques.

Tian-zi-fang is also an area full of "Shikumen" stone buildings that embodies the history of Shanghai. It was quite interesting to see various cultures and styles in just few blocks.

Last but not least, Shanghai's well known night scenes... I took this picture in a taxi. A few years ago I used to pass by it everyday after work. Oh well, sometimes New York City reminds me of it (but still not quite the same).
